Who are the Friends?

Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) group that exists to focus public attention on the Poquoson Public Library, stimulate the use of the library's services and facilities, and encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to the library. Through various fund-raising projects, the Friends donated over $8,000 to the library last year for programming and computer equipment.

Friends of the Poquoson Public Library was awarded the 2017 Friends of the Library Award by the Virginia Library Association for their continued support for the library and the community. Be a member of this award-winning organization. For more information, email friendsofpoquosonpubliclibrary@gmail.com.

Book Donations

The Friends welcome your donations of books, audio books, DVDs, music cds, and magazines that will be sold at our ongoing Books a la Carte sale and our bi-annnual sales. To help make sure the donations are acceptable for sale, please read the criteria for donations.

Monetary Donations

A monetary gift to the Friends of the Library will help the Friends provide special programs and materials that are not part of the city library budget. A gift may be made to express sympathy, appreciation, or to honor an individual on a special occasion. All gifts will be acknowledged to the person designated by the donor. For further information, contact Randy Pine at 757-766-7931 or email friendsofpoquosonpubliclibrary@gmail.com
