Bad Art Night

6th - 12th graders, enjoy a night of no pressure, free-style creativity. The rules are simple: Create the best bad art you can with supplied materials before time runs out. At the end of the night, we’ll vote on the best bad creation and crown the best worst artist with the Bad Art Prize. Bring your creativity but leave your good taste at home. Solar Eclipse Modeling

Sunday, April 7th      2:00 - 3:00 PM

solar eclipse6th - 12th graders, the next North American solar eclipse will be Monday, April 8, but what is a Solar Eclipse, and why doesn’t it happen more often? Participants will create and take home a model that demonstrates what occurs during a solar eclipse and why one does not occur every time the sun, moon, and earth are in a syzygy. They will leave with a better understanding of the next day’s celestial event. Register online or at the Circulation Desk.

Eclipse Chalk Art

Monday, April 8       2:30 to 3:00 PM

solar eclipseOpen to all ages Get eclipse ready at the library. We’ll explore the science behind the eclipse and create our own eclipse chalk art. Each participant will receive a pair of eclipse glasses to use as we step outside to view the event. Register online or at the Circulation Desk.

Teen Advisory Board

Teens jumpingCalling all 6-12 graders, the Teen Advisory Board needs you to share ideas and abilities to make our library and the community a better place. Have fun and use your talents to make a difference as you add terrific community service experience to your resume. Our spring meetings will run from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on the following Mondays:

Teens, do you love to watch anime, read manga, or even draw characters? At anime club, we read and discuss our favorite/least favorite manga, choose anime shows and movies to watch together, and play various games, crafts, and other activities related to Japanese culture. Star Wars Trivia

Jedi 6th - 12th graders, gather your team or arrive Solo andjoin a team as we test your knowledge of the Star Wars Saga. Spring Spruce Up

Monday, May 13th      5:30 to 6:30 PMgardening

Teens, we need your help to weed, plant, and mulch the library’s Reading Garden to keep it in tip top shape. This will be a great way to build your gardening skills and socialize with fellow teens. Werewolf

wolf howling6th - 12th graders, there’s a werewolf loose in the woods by the library, and we need your help to eliminate them before they decimate the entire village. This in-person murder mystery game is sure to test your social deduction skills. If you enjoy playing Mafia or Among Us, you’ll love Werewolf. Register online or at the Circulation Desk.

100 Books Before Graduation

Like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, but for Middle and High School Students! There will be prizes along the way and events to encourage students to keep reading and share their progress. Sign up in Beanstack or download the app and track your reading all year long and earn badges. Visit the library to checkout new reads and redeem prizes.
