Teen Web Design Art Contest

March 1 - 30

book shelvesThe Teen Advisory Board is sponsoring a digital art contest to update the Teen Scene section of the library’s webpage. Art submissions will be accepted from teens in grades 6-12 via e-mail from March 1 until March 30 and should reflect the theme, “What’s on your shelf?” All submissions should be accompanied by a submission form and digital artwork should be in .jpg or .png format sized to 1000x142px. We look forward to seeing what’s on your shelf.

Teen Totes Subscription Service

Registration Open March 1-15

6th through 12th graders, if you love reading, surprises, surprise boxor both, this NEW service will be perfect for you! Each month, you'll receive a selection of books and other goodies selected just for you based on your interests! While the book, feedback survey, and tote bag need to be returned to the library, the goodies are yours to keep! The subscription is 100% FREE! All you need is a library card. Registration is required each quarter and must be received by the 15th of the month. Check out our FAQs for more information.

Teen Advisory Board

Teens jumpingCalling all 6-12 graders, the Teen Advisory Board needs you to share ideas and abilities to make our library and the community a better place. Have fun and use your talents to make a difference as you add terrific community service experience to your resume. Our spring meetings will run from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on the following Mondays:

Manga & Anime Club

Third Wednesdays     6:30 - 7:30 PM

Teens, do you love to watch anime, read manga, or even draw characters? At anime club, we read and discuss our favorite/least favorite manga, choose anime shows and movies to watch together, and play various games, crafts, and other activities related to Japanese culture. Register online or at the Circulation Desk.

 

100 Books Before Graduation

Like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, but for Middle and High School Students! There will be prizes along the way and events to encourage students to keep reading and share their progress. Sign up in Beanstack or download the app and track your reading all year long and earn badges. Visit the library to checkout new reads and redeem prizes.

Teen Makerspace

The MakerSpace in the library is now available! Nine different kits can be used in the library, and the results taken home. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver before use.

SYNC audiobooks for Teens

SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens. Returning April 30, 2020, SYNC will give away two complete audiobooks a week - pairs of high interest titles, based on weekly themes. Register for SYNC and sign up for email or text alerts at www.audiobooksync.com.
