The Root Cellar (Genealogy collection)

Our genealogy room, referred to as the 'Root Cellar', is a collection of historical and genealogical materials specific to Poquoson and Hampton Roads. The materials are all reference, and are available any time the library is open.

Local History

In addition to the reference material in the Root Cellar, we also have materials about local history in the regular reference and circulating collections.

Local Authors

We also try to collect materials by local authors, if you want to support your neighbors. Items in our collection include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and local topics.
